Arsenal FC Back Heart4More

The Heart4More Foundation is proud to announce that the Arsenal Foundation is supporting the work of our charity, a charity which uses the power of football to raise awareness of cardiac health.

A donation of £20,000 from the club will help to fund a community project in South Africa in summer 2016 called #LetsChangeTheGame.

The programme will train 1600 young people in CPR and lifesaving skills through engagement with sport. Defibrillators will be donated to selected townships, along with sports equipment.

Participants will also help with the renovation of an orphanage as part of the project.

Hector Bellerin presented Heart4More founder Tobi Alabi with the donation on behalf of the Foundation after the Gunners’ 3-1 victory over Sunderland on Saturday.

Arsenal Chief Executive and Foundation Trustee Ivan Gazidis said: “We wish Tobi and his team every success with this ambitious project. This is more than just a health initiative, it aims to raise aspirations in young people. Arsenal Football Club is renowned for giving its young players a chance and this philosophy is mirrored in the projects supported by The Arsenal Foundation.”

Alabi added: “The support of The Arsenal Foundation is fantastic. It means we will be able to impact so many young people through this project and it’s just the beginning. The first phase of the project in 2016 will be to lay foundations with a view to developing exchange programmes and increase education through sport.”
